Sustainable Construction

Promoting creative and ecological solutions through a collaborative approach is the philosophy of Hbr creative platform. Pioneer of the Maker movement in Lebanon, this company functions as a manufacturing laboratory that brings together young Lebanese design talents. By rethinking traditional production models, Hbr creative platform encourages innovation, collaborative economy and sustainable design.

Founded in 2014 in Beirut, Hbr creative platform is a company that emerged directly from the Maker movement – a branch of the Do it Yourself culture oriented towards new technologies. The Maker movement is made up of creative people, who make products themselves using all kinds of technologies and open source software.

Hbr creative platform is an authentic FabLab (“manufacturing lab”) where various tools for making objects, such as 3D printers and scanners, are brought together, allowing designers to quickly move from concept to prototyping. The company thus offers a place of experimentation for the Lebanese makers in order to bring them together in a collaborative space, conducive to the exchange of ideas, and oriented towards sustainable design.

Hbr creative platform encourages learning by doing in a social setting. Numerous workshops are organized, as well as open days on Fridays. During these “Open Fridays”, the company invites participants to innovate with recycled materials to put creation at the service of a sustainable lifestyle.

In fact, the search for ecological solutions is inherent to the company’s philosophy. In addition to adhering to the Zero Waste ACT waste reduction project, Hbr creative platform develops sustainable solutions for its customers and promotes the use of environmentally friendly materials. In order to reduce its ecological footprint, the company uses bicycle couriers and works with local suppliers.

Hbr creative platform also hosts all the events of the OuiShare community in Lebanon, an international collective dedicated to the economy of sharing and collaboration. Thus, the company regularly organizes the Ouishare Drink Beirut, an event that brings together young talents in the collaborative economy to connect new ideas and actors of change.
