FabricAID recently had the privilege of hosting a delegation from the Netherlands Embassy in Beirut at their headquarters in the vibrant Mkalles Industrial District. The visit was a momentous occasion as it marked the beginning of a new collaboration between FabricAID and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The delegation, led by Ms. Sylvia Deepen, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lebanon, included Mr. Martin Ouwins, Mr. Alain Waked, and Ms. Claudine Ramadi. Their visit was not only a testament to the importance they place on supporting sustainable development and economic growth but also an affirmation of FabricAID‘s commitment to making a lasting difference in Lebanon’s social fabric.
This initiative aims to train 160 individuals to become skilled tailors and provide them with employment opportunities within the Lebanese clothing sector. “Moreover, this project will also enable us to enhance our upcycling factory operations, allowing us to employ even more people and create a positive social impact.” add Itani,
