Sustainable Textiles and Clothing

Ghitta Laskrouif is reinventing clothes, by reusing and upcycling fabrics to create handmade products. Based in Casablanca, Ghitta Laskrouif’s brand was born to celebrate heritage and culture, far from the folkloric Moroccan fashion stereotype, by providing timeless and comfortable contemporary clothes.

How does Ghitta Laskrouif build a better environment?

Ghitta Laskrouif’s collections are made through recycling, upcycling and reusing fabrics. Moreover, she designs no more than two seasons a year with small collections. Apart from that, for recycled fabrics she washes full loads only, and most of the time buys light fabric that is easy to wash from leftover fabric suppliers. Finally, she uses sunlight whenever possible and she always reuses paper for printing.

Ghitta Laskrouif’s objective is to create a sustainable community through clothing to promote usage and longevity. The entrepreneur believes that the ability to upcycle clothes and accessories with high aesthetic is a high value-added service that can make people reflect more on what they wear and their lifestyle.
