Tamar Shalem produces small quantities and has no extra materials to waste. The shoes are of high quality and very sustainable, while the design is classical and is meant to be in use for a long time. The production method is very traditional, using only light machinery.
How does Tamar Shalem care for the community?
Tamar Shalem uses the services of many small businesses such as photographers, movers, raw material makers etc., that usually provide jobs to craftsmen that have been struggling to keep their businesses going.
Moreover, the designer shares his studio with two fashion designers (each has their own label). They share information regarding marketing possibilities strategies, suppliers, ideas, customers etc. At the end of every season, they all donate unwanted samples to charity.
