Sustainable Construction

Imagine a habitat that is aesthetic, affordable, and environmentally friendly. This is the ambitious challenge that Younes Ouazri, a young visionary engineer and founder of Ecodome Maroc, has taken on. Inspired by ancestral architecture and modern technologies, he is revolutionizing housing by building domes made of raw earth, a sustainable and more accessible alternative for everyone!

From an innovative concept to a concrete reality:

Younes Ouazri started the project in 2014 and founded the company in 2016 with the conviction that sustainable housing can be both aesthetic, affordable, and environmentally friendly. The central idea of Ecodome Maroc lies in the construction of domes or any executable shapes in raw earth, an ancestral technique revisited and optimized by the young founder. This approach allows for the creation of durable and comfortable structures, perfectly adapted to the different climates of Morocco.

The company is committed to using local and eco-responsible materials, such as raw earth, straw, stone, and wood, to minimize the carbon footprint of its constructions. In addition, Ecodome Maroc integrates high-performance insulation solutions and renewable energy technologies to ensure low-energy housing. Innovative wastewater treatment and waste recycling systems contribute to creating a healthy and sustainable environment.

A concrete social and environmental impact:

Ecodome Maroc’s commitment is not limited to the ecological aspect. The company offers affordable and eco-responsible housing solutions for disadvantaged populations, thus contributing to the accessibility of rural housing. Ecodome Maroc also relies on the expertise of local artisans, promoting the economy and the transmission of traditional knowledge. The company also organizes workshops and training sessions to raise public awareness of environmental issues and the importance of sustainable housing.

Inspiration drawn from heritage and innovation:

The design of Ecodome Maroc’s domes is inspired by the work of American-Iranian architect Nader Khalili, a pioneer in raw earth architecture, and the rich Moroccan heritage in sustainable construction.

The company is constantly committed to innovation to improve its practices and reduce its environmental impact. Two key aspects illustrate this commitment:

  • BIM (Building Information Modeling): Ecodome Maroc uses BIM technology to create 3D digital models of its buildings. This allows the simulation of the thermal and mechanical performance of the structures and the adaptation of plans and designs to each environment.
  • Super adobe technique: The company has introduced an innovative construction technique called “super adobe”. This technique replaces traditional steel and wood formwork with polypropylene bags filled with earth. This innovation offers many advantages: flexibility, better thermal and acoustic insulation, and reduced construction costs.

Sustainable and affordable buildings:

Ecodome Maroc’s domes are designed to be resistant to natural disasters and to offer optimal comfort to their occupants.

The use of local materials and ecological construction techniques allows the company to offer sustainable and affordable housing solutions.

Indeed, Ecodome Maroc’s construction method can reduce construction costs by up to 30% compared to traditional methods, and the construction process is faster.

A well-deserved recognition and an inspiring model:

In December 2023, Ecodome Maroc was awarded at the last Arab SME summit in Marrakech, highlighting the positive impact of its model and its commitment to a greener and fairer future.

The company shows the way towards a future where sustainable housing is accessible to all and contributes to building a fairer and more environmentally friendly world.
